My teen is a fan of graphic novels and while I haven’t read one yet I wanted to share her review of this one. I ordered this book after reading about it online, thinking it would be a great addition to our Little Free Library. After taking a peek she decided to read it herself. It sounds like a great back to school (or any time of the year) book or one to read during a new beginning/period of transition.
The graphic novel “New Kid” is a story about a boy named Jordan who goes to a new school with very little diversity and struggles to fit in. Throughout the novel Jordan makes some good friends and tries new things such as playing soccer. I personally liked the novel because it was fun to read and it tells a funny/fun story about meeting new people and visiting new places. Jordan and his friends also loved video games and that’s one of the ways they all bonded and became a group. The illustrations of the novel were also very well done and made it even more enjoyable to read.
